Nico Rosberg preps for F1 title battle with Lewis Hamilton by go-karting with Monaco royalty Pierre Casiraghi

After finishing runner-up to Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton last season - Nico Rosberg has taken a slightly left-field approach to preparing for the new Formula 1 year. 

The German has been snapped go-karting alongside a member of the Monaco royal family ahead of the season beginning in Australia on March 20.

He was taking the go-karts for a spin with Pierre Casiraghi, who is seventh in line to the throne in Monaco behind his twin cousins, his mother, his brother, his nephew and his niece.

Despite being teammates, Hamilton's relationship with Rosberg has always been tempestuous, and that shows no signs of dying down this term.

Hamilton branded him a 'whinger' ahead of the new campaign, and says things will always be fiery between the pair.

“You’ve seen he complains about a lot of things. But you kind of let it go over your head because that’s just the way he is,” said Hamilton.

“It’s kind of the different background we come from, I guess".
