Jacques Villeneuve to contest Spa 24-hour GT race
Canadian Jacques Villeneuve has confirmed he would contest the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps later this summer.
The race for GT machinery will be held July 23-26 on the magnificent circuit of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
But on March 22, the 1997 Formula 1 World Champion will compete in a round of the Brazilian V8 stock car series held at Goiania.
This special race will see several international drivers share the wheel of the race cars with the regular competitors.
Villeneuve will join his former BAR F1 teammate Ricardo Zonta at Shell Racing.
Other ex-F1 driver to compete include Nelsinho Piquet, Enrique Bernoldi, Rubens Barrichello, Lucas di Grassi, Bruno Senna and Vitantonio Liuzzi.
