Coulthard storms to Race of Champions crown
14 December 2014 – Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard became the Champion of Champions as he beat Mercedes reserve driver Pascal Wehrlein in the final of the Race of Champions at Bushy Park in Barbados.
Coulthard was victorious in all of his races in the individual competition and won his head-to-head contests in the KTM X-Bow and Ariel Atom against Wehrlein.
"It's fantastic, thanks to the wonderful people of Barbados. We had a fantastic week," said Coulthard, after taking his first victory in the competition at his ninth attempt.
Coulthard progressed from the group stage and saw off Australian V8 Supercar Champion Jamie Whincup in his semi-final.
Wehrlein beat fellow youngster Esteban Ocon in his semi-final but couldn't match Coulthard in the final and went off at the last corner as he chased down the Briton.
Indianapolis 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay, Rallycross Champion Petter Solberg, Kurt Busch and Robby Gordon were all eliminated at the quarter final stage.
Defending Champion Romain Grosjean went out of the competition at the group stage, as did Tom Kristensen, Jolyon Palmer, José María López, Susie Wolff, Mick Doohan, along with local drivers Doug Gore and Rhett Watson.

Bacana!!!! DC venceu a ROC deste ano! #gostei
É só uma brincadeira, mas é a forma dos pilotos confraternizarem e encerrarem mais uma temporada automobilística, independente de estarem na ativa ou não. Eu acho legal.
