Raikkonen targets Singapore podium 

Kimi Raikkonen is targeting his seventh podium of the season at the Singapore Grand Prix next weekend and is hoping the Lotus can recreate the pace it had at the last street circuit in Valencia.

Raikkonen heads to Singapore third in the championship with six podiums to his name, one of which came at Valencia. After a weekend off the pace at Monza, Raikkonen is hoping he can return to form at the night race next weekend.

"Monaco was not that good for us, but Valencia was one of the best weekends so far," he said. "Obviously, there is no reason why Singapore should be any different compared to Valencia. Like at every street circuit, it's very difficult to pass other cars there, so starting the race as high as possible on the grid is a very important factor to get a good result.

"Obviously, the podium is a target again. We have had six podiums so far and scored as many points as the top guys in last few races. We have managed to get everything out of our package. Hopefully we are able to carry on in the next races, too."

Team principal Eric Boullier agrees a podium is possible.

"There's no reason to think that a podium will be out of reach. We've been quite competitive on twisty circuits this year and Singapore shares a lot of Monaco and Valencia's characteristics. Romain loves that type of circuit, while Kimi has always been quick in Singapore; even if he hasn't had the best of luck during the races themselves. It will be an interesting weekend."

Não gosto do GP de Cingapura, mas espero assim como Kimi, que a gente possa lutar por um pódio por lá.  Seria o sétimo do Iceman em sua temporada de retorno à F1. Seria demais já que ele nunca conseguiu um pódio na corrida noturna.
