Tommi Mäkinen e Kimi juntos no rally?

O jornalista Mario Bauer postou ontem em seu blog, o Grand Prix Insider uma notícia sobre a possibilidade de Kimi Räikkönen ir para o Mundial de Rally como piloto da Subaru, que retornaria à categoria tendo como chefe de equipe o tetracampeão mundial Tommi Mäkkinen.

Tommi quer Kimi como seu piloto, já que este ano, as participações do Iceman no mundo do rally foram todas pela equipe do tetracampeão, e ele não cansou de elogiar o desempenho do compatriota. A estreia seria para 2011, portanto, em 2010 Kimi não competiria mais na F1. Para seu companheiro de equipe, o piloto poderia ter o também finlandês Anton Alén, com quem o Iceman fez dupla durante o Rali da Finlândia, a nona etapa do Mundial de Rali deste ano.

Tommi Mäkinen Racing is set to become the new Subaru works team in WRC and the Finnish legend is keen to sign Kimi Räikkönen to drive a Subaru Impreza STR 010 when the newly founded rally team debuts in 2011 with the brand new 1.6 machine. While the operation will be run by Tapsa Laukkanen, Markku Alén is apparently involved in the commercial side of things and looking to place his son Anton Alén Jr. in the second Subaru.

Switcghing to rallying after a one-year-break would suit nicely with Kimi’s compensation expected to be 100% of his current retainer at Ferrari if he does not compete in Formula 1. But if he does, it’s more likely to be McLaren. BrawnGP only seems an option if Mercedes-Benz pays the multi-million salary.
